Film photography uses traditional photographic film and darkroom printing, creating an organic, timeless aesthetic with natural grain. Digital uses modern cameras and computer editing for immediate results. Both produce beautiful images—it depends on your aesthetic preference and how you want your photos to feel.
Yes! With our Artisan and Signature film packages, you receive your original developed negatives in branded archival sleeves. This is unusual—most film photographers keep negatives for reprint revenue. We believe you should own the complete package.
Large and medium format film photography is inherently deliberate. A 4x5 sheet film holder contains just 2 exposures. A roll of 120 film yields 4-12 shots depending on format. Each setup takes time—leveling the camera, focusing, metering, composing. This careful approach results in fewer total images but higher quality per frame.
Digital packages: 2-3 weeks. Film packages: 4-6 weeks (film development and darkroom printing take time). Rush processing available for additional fee.
Absolutely! All packages include a generous personal use license. You can print at home, use professional labs, share on social media, and give as gifts. Commercial use requires a separate license.
You can! Artisan Film Collection packages let you choose prints OR scans, but you can add both for an additional fee. Signature Collection includes both automatically.
